Noisy restaurant quietened by acoustic decorative finish.
A visually beautiful restaurant may not be a pleasurable place to spend time due to poor restaurant acoustics. Hard flat surfaces such as wooden floors and plastered walls reflect sound thereby increasing and amplifying noise levels within the space.  Poor restaurant acoustics distort and increase noise levels; for many this can spoil the dining experience.

After a recent refurbishment using fashionable hard materials, Black Tiles too suffered from poor restaurant acoustics.  Owner Tim Yoe called in Oscar Acoustics and after a free acoustic appraisal, it was decided that 12mm of SonaSpray trowelled fcx acoustic decorative ceiling finish would be the solution.

Simply Awesome!  It’s created a totally different dining environment. Speech and music are clear and all background clutter noise has gone.  The restaurant feels comfortable and somehow warmer.”

Nobu Restaurant

The critically acclaimed Nobu Berkeley St in the heart of Mayfair, is now one of London’s most fashionable restaurants and has also been the venue for some of the capitals most high profile parties. Not long after opening, the management noticed an acoustic problem   with the feature dome in the upstairs restaurant.  Conversations taking place on the tables beneath the dome were being reflected back at the diners from all angles, making it difficult to understand what the person the other side of the table was saying.  Oscar Acoustics were called to correct the restaurant acoustics.  Oscar Acoustics applied Sonacoustic PL to the inner face of the dome.  Sonacoustic has the benefit of not only being a superb sound absorber, but also appearing as normal plaster.  This allowed the restaurant acoustics problem to be solved without compromising the celebrated designer David Collins’ clean contemporary lines.
