Oscar Elite acoustic plaster for Woking Gallery
The Light Box building has been described as an architectural gem. Designed by the creators of the London Eye, Marks Barfield Architects, and featuring stunning materials and spaces the Lightbox is intended to appeal to young and old alike.
It was essential to the designers to have excellent gallery acoustics within the large open spaces despite the hard wooden floors and furnishings. When large groups of people, including school parties gather, the noise would reverberate off every hard surface, in turn creating a very stressful atmosphere.
The designers also required an acoustic treatment for galleries that would not look out of place and detract from the exhibits, so acoustic panels on the walls would never have been suitable.
Superb gallery acoustics with Oscar Elite
Specialists in gallery acoustics and general acoustic problems within buildings, Oscar Acoustics were specified to install Oscar Elite acoustic plaster to the main gallery and 'Local Life' exhibition hall ceilings.
Oscar Elite acoustic plaster applied to the gallery ceilings by our specialist in-house team ensured a comfortable acoustic ambience with no indication that it was anything other than smooth white plaster, thus not compromising the clean crisp design concept.
