Listed below are answers to some of the questions we are asked regularly.

If you have a question that is not answered here, please feel free to contact us using our enquiry form.

How to soundproof a ceiling

There are several different ways of soundproofing a ceiling, with each option having postives and negatives depending on the situation. Here at Oscar Acoustics, we provide several different Soundproofing Products & Systems.

Celbar Recycled Acoustic Cavity Insulation is a blend of recycled specially prepared cellulose fibres, organic in nature and treated to make it fire retardant. Tests have shown that when packed together, this natural cellulose insulation material is acoustically and thermally more effective than man-made mineral wool. Ideal for use in both ceilings and walls.

Oscar Iso-mount is a space saving Sound Proofing Isolation Mount for Floating Sound Proofing Ceilings. With this system you lose as little as 6mm ceiling height, which is significantly less than other ceiling products. We can also provide wall fixed versions if we cannot mount to the ceiling.

Acoustic Sealant is a new Oscar-Seal high perforomance Acoustic Intumescent Sealant. It's ideal for use with our other soundproofing systems, such as the Oscar Iso-Mount System. You can buy our Acoustic Sealant here.

How to put up acoustic plasterboard

The Oscar Iso-Mount is a new space saving, isolating mount for sound proofing ceilings, which allows soundproof ceiling work to be done without going into the space above.

We have a step by step guide on how to set up your ceiling soundproofing solution. Alternatively, if you would prefer to watch a video demonstrating our Oscar Iso-mount installation, you can watch it here
