This impressive refurbishment by Eric Parry Architects and Collins Construction involved heavy demolition works to an existing reception area within an already occupied building with a Grade I listed façade. The works involved the addition of a steel frame on which a brand new zinc roof was installed and internally the floors and walls were given a beautiful stone finish with new windows installed into the arches within the existing façade.
One of the challenges of this grand, open space that would welcome hundreds of visitors each day, was that it would be extremely reverberant without the right acoustic treatment. The same stunning visual impact combined with a welcoming and calm acoustic ambience was made possible with our English Heritage approved Oscar Elite acoustic plaster applied to the ceiling. Spray applied throughout to create a exceptionally smooth, seamless acoustic plaster ceiling that would not steal focus from the stunning recycled plastic ceiling sculpture that was designed to be clearly visible from Buckingham Palace Road and attracts many passers-by into the foyer space to view the sculpture.
We serve Great Britain providing architectural acoustic finishes for buildings across sectors and industries, advocating the health and wellbeing of all those who enter them. With our extensive range of seamless, acoustic, decorative finishes we enable designers to create beautiful, inviting, modern spaces that sound just as good as they look.
