Arena acoustics

Arena acoustics

Winner of Sports Venue of the Year at The Welsh Hospitality Awards - Viola Ice Arena Wales.  Home to the Cardiff Devils ice hockey team, the arena hosts international hockey and figure skating events, speed skating and curling.

Our in-house specialist teams applied 6,200 m2 of SonaSpray K-13 in white to plasterboard and profiled deck for Kier Construction & Scott Brownrigg for superb reverberation control throughout the impressive sports arena.  SonaSpray also aids in condensation and humidity control by absorbing water vapour then releasing it when humidity levels drop, promoting a healthy and balanced atmosphere.  It reduces ventilation requirements with potential savings in equipment and operating costs too.

The main ice rink pictured above was sprayed in just 8 days using scissor and boom lifts.  The client now has an attractive monolithic ceiling finish that controls sound distortion and humidity.
